CSES Mission
CSES (China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite) is a scientific mission to monitor perturbations in the ionosphere, the magnetosphere and the Van Allen belts due to electromagnetic phenomena and to study their correlation with seismic events. CSES operates in a day-night Sun-synchronous circular orbit at an altitude of 500 km.
Italy cooperates with the development, test and calibration of instruments and software tools. INAF-IAPS supports the analyses of ionospheric magnetic and electric fields and the plasma data of CSES. The Solar-Terrestrial environment is monitored by using other missions data to identify the occurrence of external forcing that could affect CSES measurements.
